The “Great Depression,” as it is called, sparks a worldwide economic crisis. In Germany, six million are unemployed by June 1932.
This context simply states that from the beginning of The “Great Depression”, October 29 1929. to June of 1932 Six million people were unemployed in Germany. About 65 million people lived in Germany at this time so that is about 1/9 of the population was unemployed.
